If you saw my last post regarding cholesterol then you know that it’s not the enemy that’s it’s been perceived to be. So the next question is, if not cholesterol then what is the real enemy?
Inflammation is actually Mother Nature’s way of protecting our bodies from bacteria and viruses. As we heal, our body goes back to it’s normal state and inflammation recedes. So we need inflammation. The problem arises when we constantly expose our bodies to stress, and a poor diet of foods that our bodies are not designed to process ie. trans fats, sugar, refined foods. Chronic inflammation occurs in the arteries and other parts of the body and health issues like heart disease and Alzheimer’s are prevalent.
So what is the remedy? There are two steps, reduce stress in your life and eat real food. It’s that simple.
